Derozans 37 Points Leads shocking comeback against the Boston Celtics

DeMar DeRozan is to thank for the Bulls win over the Boston Celtics on Monday night. Derozan’s 37-point performance led the Bulls back from a 19-point deficit against the Boston Celtics, leaving many Celtics fans in disbelief.

“We had to remain resilient” Derozan said “It was very gratifying to see us keep the fight on the road, in a very tough place to play in.”

Celtics coach Ime Udoka said “We got up, got comfortable, got a little bit too cute thinking the game was over in the third quarter, We started celebrating early. You mess with the game, it will come back to bite you.”

The Celtics led 94-75 with about three minutes left in the third quarter and still had a 103-89 lead entering the fourth. But Chicago scored the first 12 points in the fourth to cut the deficit to two points, 103-101, with just over 8 minutes left

Jaylen Brown had 28 points and seven rebounds. Jayson Tatum scored 20, Al Horford chipped in 20 with 10 rebounds, and Marcus Smart scored 16 for Boston. Smart, clearly disappointed, criticised Brown and Tatum for not passing the ball enough. “There is only so much I can do from the corner, they need to pass the ball, that’s something they’ll have to learn,” said Smart.

The Chicago Bulls are off to their best start since 2012 having 6 wins and one loss. The tremendous season was started by the Bulls winning 4 straight games which has not been done since the Michael Jordan Bulls era.

Boston dropped to 2-5, marking their worst seven-game start since beginning the 2006-07 campaign with six losses in seven games.
