The inaugural Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka, a landmark event aimed at fostering investment and collaboration in Zambia’s mining sector, has officially commenced at Lusaka’s Mulungushi International Conference Center.
The five-day event, which forms part of the celebration of 100 years of mining in Zambia, is attracting key players from the global mining industry.
Among the top sponsors of the event is Grizzly Mining Group, Zambia’s second-largest emerald mining company.
The company has donated US$50,000 towards the organization of the conference, reinforcing its commitment to the growth and sustainability of the sector.
The Insaka features both a conference and an exhibition, where mining firms and industry-related companies showcase their products and services.
Grizzly Mining has taken a notable step towards transparency by offering a digital display at its exhibition stand, aimed at demystifying the common perception that emerald mines operate with a high level of secrecy.
Visitors to the Grizzly stand are encouraged to engage with the company’s representatives and learn more about their operations.
Speaking on behalf of Grizzly Mining, Jeneba Ntesa, a management representative, emphasized the company’s dedication to Zambia’s mining sector, expressing optimism about the event’s impact on industry collaboration.
“We hope this inaugural event will foster meaningful connections, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among industry stakeholders,” she said.
Ntesa has also praised the government for its role in hosting the Insaka, acknowledging President Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership in promoting Zambia’s mining potential.
“We applaud the government under the able leadership of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zambia Mr. Hakainde Hichilema for creating an enabling environment to host this groundbreaking Insaka,” she added.
Grizzly Mining remains committed to responsible mining practices, economic empowerment, and community development.
“We look forward to continued partnership and collaboration within the industry, and we remain dedicated to fostering growth and sustainability in Zambia’s mining sector,” Ntesa concluded.
The Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka is expected to serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue, facilitating new investments and collaborations that will propel the country’s mining industry into its next century.
