ARMY CAUTIONS PUBLIC ON FAKE RECRUITMENT

By Hector Simfukwe

Zambia Army Commander DENNIS ALIBUZWI has warned the public to be wary of unscrupulous people masquerading as Recruiting Officers.

Lieutenant General ALIBUZWI says people especially the youths, have continued to fall victim to the scammers.

He says the latest victims involve three youths from the Copperbelt who have been swindled out of their hard earned money by scammers pretending to be Recruiting Officers in the Zambia Army.

General ALIBUZWI says some victims were charged monies amounting to over eight thousand kwacha.

He says it is the Army’s policy to advertise whenever it wants to recruit new officers and does not demand any payment from those desiring to join as Officers and Soldiers.

The Zambia Army Commander says the public should therefore ignore the fake advertisement or recruitment messages running on different platforms other than in the traditional media.

This is according to Zambia Army Director General Civil Military Affairs Brigadier General GENOH MUKE.
