Grizzly Mining Limited has constructed and handed over a one by four modern classroom bloc to Lumpuma Day Secondary School, a project valued at a staggering K6,500,000.00.
The company management reaffirmed that the magnificent project stands as a testament to the commitment and dedication of Grizzly Mining group towards supporting the education system in Chief Lumpuma.
Grizzly’s Pridegems General Manager, Barbra Kafwilo and Group Corporate Affairs Director and Head – Human Resource, Davy Phiri led the company’s management team that handed over the facility to the thankful Chief Lumpuma, Ministry of Education top officials, district officials and the community members at large.
The handed over already electrified classroom block comes with new desks, over 20 computers and printers, science laboratory equipment, water reticulation and an ablution block of flushable toilets for staff and pupils respectively.
Phiri underscored that Grizzly Mining Limited remained dedicated to investing in the development of Lumpuma Chiefdom and beyond.
“We have robust Corporate Social Responsibility projects already underway, aimed at uplifting the lives of the people in this community and improving the standards of living,” Phiri said.
Copperbelt Province Minister Elisha Matambo through Lufwanyama District Commissioner Justin Mwalikwa commended Grizzly Group for unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of people in the district.
Matambo also commended Chief Lumpuma for sustaining a cordial relationship with Grizzly Mine saying such has continued to bear fruits through robust corporate social responsibility projects in the communities by the investor.
Minister Matambo said because of Grizzly Mine’s unceasing investment in the education sector in Lufwanyama, areas like the Chief Lumpuma community now were able to provide quality education to the learners.
“It’s pleasing to note that even as the government strides to put in place necessary requirements for better delivery of education services to the citizenry, the corporate partners like Grizzly are doubling their efforts in supplementing the state to deliver development. “President Hakainde Hichilema is committed to ensuring that there are not only teachers in all schools but also development of modern learning infrastructure and we are grateful to companies like Grizzly Mine who are walking hand in hand with the government to develop Zambia,” Minister Matambo said.
