A high-level Zambian delegation led by Finance and National Planning Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane is in Washington DC, United States of America, for the 2024 spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.
Dr Musokotwane is accompanied by Secretary to the Treasury Felix Nkulukusa, Bank of Zambia Governor Dr Denny Kalyalya, Acting Permanent Secretary (Budget & Economic Affairs) Mwaka Mukubesa, Zambia Revenue Authority Commissioner General Dingani Banda and Bank of Zambia Deputy Governor (Operations), Dr Francis Chipimo for the meeting which commence today and end on Sunday, 21st April, 2024.
In a statement, the Finance Minister said during the week-long Spring Meetings, the delegation will participate in a series of IMF and World Bank scheduled events, hold bilateral talks with other development partners, and engage investors from across the globe.
Dr. Musokotwane said the team will also engage the IMF African and Fiscal Affairs Departments, and participate in the IMF Africa Group 1 Constituency meeting on various aspects of development cooperation and international economic affairs affecting Zambia.
“Concerning the World Bank Group, the delegation will, among other engagements, participate in the African Consultative Group Meeting with the World Bank Group President Ajay Banga, and hold separate consultative meetings with various divisions of the World Bank Group, the African Group 1 Constituency, and the International Finance Corporation,” he said.
