ZAMBIA, ESWATINI COLLABORATE IN ENHANCING PENSION SCHEME

ZAMBIA is looking forward to strong collaboration of enhanced pension reforms.

Labour and Social Security Minister Brenda Tambatamba said this was because the two countries shared similarities in the target to enhance pension schemes of citizens working in the public sector.

“I firmly believe that as African countries, we can find solutions to our problems within ourselves as we have the requisite competences and experiences. This calls for commitment, appropriate legal framework and enhanced human capital development,” Ms Tambatamba said.

She was speaking when her counterpart from that country, Phila Buthelezi called on her in Lusaka yesterday.

And Mr Buthelezi said his country was in awe of the progress that Zambia had made in the pension scheme remodeling through the enhancing legislation governing the country’s employment sector.

Mr Buthelezi said his country had a lot of lessons to draw from the Zambian story as it also embarked on a legislative reform agenda for the pension scheme.
